Brwyn is inspired by the clean lines and understated elegance of mid-century furniture. The cabinet features three sliding doors, allowing easy access to the internal compartments without the clearance required for conventional hinged doors. The rounded, tapered legs complement the simple lines of the cabinet and give the substantial solid oak construction a lighter appearance.
The two solid oak doors are made from carefully selected and grain-matched timber, creating continuity of colour and grain across the front of the unit. Traditional sliding dovetail joints are fitted to the backs of the doors to help control natural timber movement and prevent cupping.
The central slatted door provides a distinctive design feature while allowing air to circulate around electronic equipment. The gaps between the slats also allow compatible infrared remote controls to operate equipment without opening the cabinet. Alternative slat colours are available on request.
Designed for modern AV equipment
Brwyn has been developed to accommodate modern gaming consoles, amplifiers, AV receivers and other entertainment equipment.
The generous internal height allows larger gaming consoles, including a PlayStation 5, to be positioned vertically. Adjustable solid oak shelves provide flexibility for arranging different equipment, while large cable openings make connections straightforward and help keep wiring neatly organised.
Each shelf is handmade using traditional breadboard construction to help accommodate the natural movement of solid oak. The backing panels are also constructed from solid oak rather than plywood or veneered board.
As with any enclosed media cabinet, please follow the equipment manufacturer's ventilation recommendations and allow sufficient space around devices that generate heat.
Finish
Brwyn is finished in our Natural wax oil, which accentuates the warm honey tones and distinctive grain of the solid oak.
This hard-wearing, water-resistant finish provides excellent protection for everyday use while retaining the natural character and beauty of the timber.
We use premium, hand-selected oak throughout the cabinet. Every piece is individually made in our Welsh workshop, with particular attention paid to timber selection, traditional joinery and finishing.
